PARKLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

We offer a range of after school sports clubs and have successful football and cross county teams.  In KS2   musical instrument tuition is available, through the Wider Opportunities Scheme.  Pupils have lessons through Leicesterhsire Arts.

We offer a range of extra curricular clubs and activities for children are available. These vary from year to year, but usually include: dance, drama, recorder, football, cross country, art, choir, reading and Jaffa club run by the Local Churches.

All children experience visits linked to their learning themes whenever possible and we also make use of visitors to school, including drama workshops and theatre days. Year 5 have the opportunity to experience a residential. In September 2009, the pupils went to Brancaster Activity Centre to learn about sustainability.

We have a School Grounds Plan and  are gradually making zoned Outdoor Classrooms. We have a wildlife and vegetable garden. As an Eco school we offer additonal clubs and responsibilities for pupils.

We are linked to South Wigston High School and Guthlaxton College, who both have Arts Status. We encourage the Performing Arts and all pupils take part in  performances to audiences annually.
