Ofsted recognised that we provide a broad and balanced curriculum which allows pupils to make connections between subjects. A strength is the many opportunities that are taken to enrich the curriculum. Numerous educational visits, visitors and extra-curricular clubs e.g. gardening club, help bring the curriculum to life and make good use of the local environment.
Residential trips to Rushall Farm, Bradfield are held each summer. Over the year we participate, compete and perform with other local schools in a variety of events eg. choir singing at the Hexagon, swimming, athletics, steel band, rounders, basketball. Children have had the opportunity to try out various new sports including boxing, ski-ing, ice skating, golf, circus skills and tag rugby.
All children have an opportunity to take part in a school play. The children have opportunities throughout the year to take part in school events eg. talent show, and a variety of charity fundraising events. School council and Year 6 often play an important role in organising and running events eg. Red Nose Day.
