Oxfam is an international association of over 15 organisations activating in more than 90 countries to develop effective solutions to famine, poverty around the world. The confederation was founded in 1942 in Oxford, UK. Their initial concern is to relieve famine, to offer better life and health conditions to those in need. Donations gained transformed the lives of more than 14 million people around the world.
I love books
Everybody knows at least 4 or 5 Oxfam bookshops for good holiday read, school read... But I've never known that they are actively participating in giving books a longer life by opening stores for second-hand books. A wonderful idea, don't you think so?14/10/2009 10:50:23
