There is an extensive range of extra-curricular activities, including lunchtime and after school sports clubs and teams. Key Stage 3 pupils have 2 hrs 30 mins of timetabled PE; Key Stage 4 pupils have 1 hr 40 mins.
Individual and small group music lessons are provided and there is a number of musical ensembles/bands. The Jazz and Soul bands are very popular. We hold an annual concert.
Drama clubs operate at both key stages, with many opportunities for pupils to perform, including at Borough events, GCSE performances, at the Royal Albert Hall and in school productions (Bugsy Malone in 2007).
Other extra-curricular activities include ICT, animation, Art, Languages (Japanese and Russian), homework and chess clubs. There is a thriving Duke of Edinburgh Award, with large numbers achieving both the bronze and silver awards.
Day trips and residential visits flourish, the latter including ski-trips and French exchanges.
A very wide range of courses is offered at KS4, including new subjects (Media Studies, Diploma in iMedia, AS Computing) Most take GCSE Statistics as well as Maths. All pupils take an ICT option at KS4. Triple Science is offered. French, German and Spanish are run at KS4; over 60% of pupils opt for at least one language.
