NOCTON LTD

Nocton Ltd currently farms 3500 acres in Lincolnshire (Nocton Estate) and 183 acres in a ring fence in Cornwall (Pendarves Estate). The total cropping area in Cornwall is approximately 1200 acres with rented land, over a 2 - 4 year cropping programme.

The Nocton Estate is the headquarters of Nocton Ltd and this is where the company's state of the art automated glasshouse and packhouse facilities are.

Included in the packhouse are 7 cold stores; 1 heat store; 6 drying walls; a bulb grading area; space for 6 flower packing lines; a temperature controlled goods outwards; space for 5 pot lines; a label room; a vase life room and laboratory; a sales office and boardroom; a canteen for all the staff as well as an induction room.

The Pendarves Farm was purchased in 1998, it was center to the Pendarves family estate which was approximately 5000 acres, whose's wealth was based on the mining industry. Pendarves mine was closed in 1986.

At Nocton Estate daffodils, tulips and gladioli are the most important crops. Cereals are used as a break crop. Peas are also grown, and the company is a founder member of a grower group producing quality freezing peas for one of the UK's main supermarkets.
