NIDOR BODYWORKS

The company was formed in 1972 as a result of a partnership between Alan Knight and Keith Dorey, both highly skilled panel beaters having served apprenticeships with two of the leading repair companies of that time in this area. They first worked together in a small unit on the quay in Poole, but as their reputation for quality repairs rapidly grew they soon had to move to a purpose built unit on the Dawkins Road Industrial Estate. They were the first bodyshop in the Dorset area to invest in a low bake oven. With continued hard work and dedication to customer satisfaction the company grew and moved into the current freehold premises of 8, 500 square foot. In 1999 Martin, Alan's son, joined the company as manager having served his time as a Mercedes Benz Technician for the local dealership.

Unfortunately in 2009 Keith had to retire due to ill health. Although the number of staff varies, some of our members have been with the company from the beginning and others have been trained from leaving school. Alan and Martin give their personal attention to maintain the highest standards of work and customer care, assisted by a friendly and dedicated team of employees. Nidor has continued to trade through good times and bad for the past 38 years and will continue to do so as a true family business.

At any given point in time there is usually at least one classic vehicle in the workshop. Whilst we do not get involved in any mechanical overhaul, any paint or bodywork restoration can be carried out to an exceptional standard. Although a little restricted on the size of trailer that will fit into our low bake oven, we have undertaken many cosmetic repair jobs in our time. In our years of service we have also painted many garage doors for local developers and customers, and to a much higher standard than the manufacturers can supply.
