  I have just read some of the very negative comments some people have felt moved to write about Newbolds, and feel that I would like to write a different story. I have dealt with this company for several years now, my current car came from them as did the one before it. I expect the next one to come from there too. I have never ever had anything less than excellent service, care, courtesy and reasonable prices from them. When a part was desperately needed before I went on holiday they pulled out more stops to get it and fit it before we went away than I would have believed possible. I feel few companies would have been so good. I imagine when people are cross and upset they are more likely to add their remarks than those of us who are quietly content - just wanted to balance the remarks a bit. 8/2/2010 4:58:29 PM

  having taken my vehicle into Newbolds Mansfield for estimate on repair to bodywork,I was contacted by Britannia accident assist ,as the dammage caused was not my fault they offered to deal with all claims and repair also a replacement vehicle at no cost to myself.Sounds good -NOT .2 years later they now want me to pay for repairs. IF NEWBOLDS ARE STILL OFFERING BRITTANIAS ASSISTANCE read the smmall print and think twice.1/11/2010 4:58:03 PM

  I paid £497 for a service at this garage. The day after the service the rear brake light stopped working I returned and they changed it. Later that day I noticed substantial damage to the paintwork on the front wing. I went back again and they said without proof that they had done it they would not be prepared to repair the damage. I tried saying to them that there was no way I could have caused damage to the car as it was parked on my drive (which is on a private road.) They Service Manager said that someone must have been throwing stones at the car as his 'lads' did not do it. I was was very shocked that after paying nearly £500 they treated me so badly. I certainly will not be returning as one of their employees obviously doesn't value customers, let alone customer service!8/6/2009 1:41:11 PM

  Very unhelpful, very unfriendly. My wife and I bought a three-year old Polo TDi from them recently. After only six weeks of owning it it needed new rear brake discs and pads due to excessive corrosion, which even they agree should have been picked up on the PDI; it also needed a major service. Guess what? Neither Newbolds or VW UK wanted to know, VW UK saying that it was the retailers responsibility and nothing to do with them, and Newbolds refusing to do anything, telling me that I would have to sue them for the money. VW UK eventually offered half of the cost of the brake bits, but Newbolds couldn't care less. Avoid them - I wish that we had!7/23/2009 12:28:24 PM
