Short profile:
Learning together is how we learn best. With our learning platform we aim to provide an area where children and parents can communicate, engage, and learn together.
The learning platform is regularly updated with, news, photographs, information and learning activities, so we are hoping that you will want to return to see what is happening in our school.
Learning togethe
At Mountfield and Whatlington we believe that early childhood is the foundation on which children build their lives. We have a friendly, caring atmosphere and instill family values and attitudes in the children. Our small class sizes allow for more individual time to be given to each child.
We believe that children learn through experience, through everything that happens around them. We provide the children with a stimulating school environment, where their achievements are celebrated through displays of their work, through a system of rewards and by the praise and encouragement of staff.
Detailed description:
We aim to provide the children with a variety of activities through a carefully planned curriculum. There is a wide range of sports clubs and extra-curricular activities for children to join.
We believe also that by providing a caring environment the children quickly develop self-confidence and learn to act independently in thought and deed.
School should be a partnership with home. By developing effective communications with parents and by working together, we believe we can provide the best possible education for your child.
Reception have P.E. on Monday and Friday. Please make sure your child has their P.E kit in school on these days.
We will be exploring lots of things for our Learning Journey this term. We are going to be reading books about farms, writing adventure stories about farms, printing using fruit and vegetables and painting pictures of farm animals.
Reading and enjoying books is so important in Reception. We recommend children should share and read a book with an adult for between 5-10 minutes per day.
