Short profile:
MT offers wide and varied opportunities for its pupils. Our primary department has a strong outdoor education programme as well as sporting links with both special and mainstream schools.
The secondary department has strong sporting links with other special schools as well as the Devon Association. The school has secured a lottery grant to promote gymnastics. KS4 students attain certificates in trampolining, diving and golf.
The school has varied other opportunities for Video and Photography production, Sailing, Climbing, and Music.
The school provides a balance between WRL (Work Related Learning) and GCSE opportunities. The success pupils have with WRL and that we have had no pupils regarded as NEETs (Not In Education, Employment or Training) for the last 4 years suggests our balance is right.
We also supervise a transition TA who works with our students before and after their transition to College for a year.
Year 9 pupils - Diplomas, NOCN step up programme was introduced at Easter 2009.
