a mission customertried to comment on above review but server wouldn't allow....sounds like a bad time. Its true there are a lot of people who say good things about Mission M'cycles and I personally have never had any probs in over 5 years. What did they say when you complained? Mark the owner I've always found a top bloke?
02/10/2010 20:06:20My first visit
abrelosojosI took my GSXR 750 k3 to Mission motorcyles due to being highly recommened by several people on a forum I frequent.
I have often found myself being ripped off or having terrible workman ship done to my bike as a result of careless mechanics and rip off bike shops, I was running out of local options and therefore opted to try Mission motorcycles, dispute 20 miles to get there from my home.
On the phone the customer service was exellent, Clear and very reassuring.
They aided me through purchasing the right chain and sprockets for me, And even let me have a loan bike free of charge as I require the bike for work!!
All this was fantastic so far. I took the bike to mission motorcyles 2 weeks after booking my bike in for a chain and sprocket change.
The night prior I stripped, washed, waxed and polished the bike entirely making sure it was as prestine condition as the day I bought it, I do this on a regular basis, but I always give it a very good clean before anyone touches it so they can appreciate that it is my pride and joy. I personaly feel that if you give them a dirty bike, They wont have as much respect for it.
A whole 8 hours later and I collected my bike with its new shiny gold chain.
The bike was covered in oily finger marks, Particularly around the white wheel rims and the lower fairing and around the pillion seat part of the rear fairing.
I found this annouying as clearly there is no pride in their work and it most certainly doesn't show. I've worked as a laptop engineer for some years and would never dream of giving a laptop back uncleaned. The goal is to make the customer happy.
Regardless of the oily mess,I let it go, but didnt concider moaning at the time as the customer service and helpfulness had been supurb.
However later that evening I cleaned the oil off my bike and to my horror found a big chip out of the rim of the rear wheel, Which looks asthough someone has slipped with a tool and scratched the paint right off to show metal.
I wish I had studied more the overall quality of the worksmanship as since I left the store without knowing the damage, I cant ever proove to them they caused it.
I've been to have work done on break calipers that come out with 2 flat tyres 2 months later... and I've had top end rebuilds that the timings where all out.
I've had services that my bike got dropped and now, I've had a chain fitted that left me requiring my wheel to be repowdercoated before the weather gets under the paint and makes it worse.
Well done mission motorcyles, Your just another shop on the list, 'To AVOID'
