The Holiday Hotel for the disabled and elderly frail

The Hotel has 22 bedrooms with the rooms in the main house fully en-suite. The bedrooms on the ground floor wing are ideally suited for wheelchair access. These rooms are part en-suite, having a w.c. and a wash basin. Some have patio doors giving access to the garden. Specially adapted bath/shower facilities are provided on the ground floor, with easy access for wheelchairs and walking frames. The House is centrally heated throughout, offering a warm and cosy environment, with an attractive fully refurbished lounge overlooking the gardens. Here you can relax during the day with a drink or enjoy the evening entertainment. Merton House has been providing holidays for the disabled and elderly frail since 1965. It has been actively supported by many voluntary organisations but in particular the Birmingham Fellowship of the Handicapped, the Rotary Club of Birmingham and other Rotary Clubs have maintained continuous support. The Rotary Club of Birmingham has provided considerable management and financial assistance in the development of the Hotel for the last 41 years and the project continuous in its status as a non profit making community service charity.
