Southampton Mencap- A local voluntary organisation with company status. Although affiliated to Royal Mencap, the Society is totally financially independent. and takes full responsibility for ensuring that resources are available to fund all activities.

What does Southampton Mencap do? It seeks to improve the lives of people of all ages with learning disabilities and their families or carers living in Southampton. It provides a variety of services including a wide range of age appropriate leisure activities for children/young people and adults, summer programme of activities, open meetings/carers lunches, and information and advice Works with statutory authorities and other voluntary organisations to identify and deliver services and to monitor, assess and research gaps in services. Advocates and campaigns with and on behalf of people with learning disabilities.
