Established in 1999, the site is hosted by a team of NHS consultants from across the United Kingdom; these consultants also comprise the majority shareholders in the privately-owned company. Medicdirect is an independent resource that offers advice for those using both NHS and private facilities. Our comprehensive library of health information is complemented by lifestyle, diet and self-assessment resources to create a complete wellbeing guide.

All content is written by practicing senior clinicians who specialise in each particular topic, ensuring that the information is credible, in keeping with UK guidelines and based on current best practice.
