Short profile:

MATA is dedicated to meeting your needs in training as a Commercial Mediator and enabling you to continue growing and developing your skills as part of a dynamic community of professional mediators.

Established in 2002 by David Richbell, MATA has rapidly earned its position as one of the leaders in the field of Commercial Mediation Training. MATA have for the past 10 years been able to offer courses, seminars, debates and talks and have built a supportive learning community for all kindred spirits to be an important part of.

Detailed description:

David Richbell and his training partner, Jane Gunn are joined by a team of people, all commercial mediators with outstanding skill and commitment who can lead, coach and assess participants during our training programmes.

We have developed a programme of Continuing Professional Development that aims to deliver un-rivelled quality and outstanding value.

Our aim is to develop the very best Commercial Mediators by providing the highest quality tuition, the most rigorous accreditation process and creating a Learning Community of people who are dedicated to developing Mediation Mastery and to enjoying the journey of working and learning together. Ultimately we are a teaching community that aims to train a wealth of Mediators who will feel empowered to practice the positive approaches to conflict.

MATA’s purpose is to create and sustain a community-based business that is centred on commercial mediation, both in practice and in training and is also person-driven rather than profit-driven.

We aim to practice what we teach and to apply our Core Values in all our working relationships. As a community made up of our members, we believe:

Co-operation is preferable to confrontation; in valuing others’ beliefs, feelings and needs; in approaching others from an assumption of Trust; that using and facilitating dialogue leads to understanding; in transparency in our dealings with others and one another; that putting people before profit enhances both.
