Short profile:

Mandeville Primary School in St Albans is an outstanding school Ofsted 2008 for children from 3 11 years We aim to make a real difference to the children who come to the school

Detailed description:

Teachers plan a wide range of visits and visitors to add excellence and enjoyment. The children have also enjoyed  Book Week and Science Week.

In Key Stage 2, we plan opportunities which ensure that each pupil will experience a national art gallery, theatre and museum. All children in years 3 and 4 learn to play the violin, and in year 2 all children try their hand at playing the recorder. Both opportunities are designed to motivate and encourage children to continue to play an instrument after their class work comes to an end.

Beyond the school curriculum the school offers a daily breakfast club and a wide range of after school activities, for example, choir, Capitv8 (our book club), art, cricket, football, athletics, street dance and gardening club to name but a few! We even have a club dedicated to "speed stacking" which is great for improving co-ordination. The newest, and most popular club is the early morning running club, which is well attended by children and parents!
