• Poorly Managed and Discraceful Customer Service!

  I have been using Maids of Honour for about 3-4 months during this time I had been unwell during early pregnancy. I have a young daughter to look after also so needed the help keeping on top of the house work. Our regular cleaners were friendly and we were happy with their work however, I asked that the Manager/owner M. contact me each week to advise me what time her staff would arrive each week so I could ensure I was in. She didnt do this and I had to text her each week (usually the night before) asking her to confirm the time. (usually it was between 10 am -1230) Today I had to go out unexpected in the morning, I hadnt heard from anyone and it slipped my mind the cleaners would be arriving most likely during the time I was out, however, I did not receive a phone call whilst I was out advising me they were at our house. (M. has my number) I got home just after 12pm and saw a note stating they had turned up just before I had got back. I phoned M. and said I had received a note but no one had contacted me to let me know they were here. (I would have caught them if they hung on for a few mins) She told me yes she knew they they had turned up and I wasnt in (the cleaning ladies texted her) I asked why she didnt call me today or text me last night to advise me of the arrival time, like I have asked her to do a number of times. She said "I have got enough on my plate"! nevermind having to text me each week. I said it is your responsibility to inform me when your staff arrive at my house. She said "You are usually in Hannah!" I said I didnt find that acceptable so she then told me to "find someone else to do it then!" and hung up. Her attitude to my complaint was highly unprofessional, I have not ever been happy with her responses to my texted in the past as I have always found them abrupt and not helpful at all. It feels like she doesnt want to help her customers and her people skills are appalling. I strongly advise people NOT to use this service if they are looking for a well managed, understanding staff who want to put the time and effort into taking care of there customers. • Disreputable company - police involvement

  We had employed the services of this cleaning company for a while. The problems started when we moved house and my partner returned during the day to find that the cleaners had left the house early before the end of their shift. We then contacted the manager of the company to make her aware of this problem. We then received a text message to say the cleaners refused to clean for us anymore and said we had lied. We agreed to terminate the contract at this point as M. H. - manager of this company had been trying to get extra money from us saying the cleaners didn't have enough time to clean the whole of the house so they would have to charge us extra. This coupled with the fact that we had caught the cleaners leaving early confirmed to us that this company was disreputable and the cleaners were dishonest. We were prepared to overlook this discrepancy but the cleaners had decided to terminate the contract themselves, we have a written contract and were quite within our rights to complain about the service should we feel aggrieved. The main problem to come from this is that M. H.withheld our keys and refused to give them back unless we gave her five pounds for postage and packaging and her costs of travel to and from the post office to gain this quote. We sent a cheque for five pounds which she cashed whilst still holding onto our keys, at this point we had no choice but to get the police involved or change all the locks to the house. The police had to physically go to M. H. address to retrieve our front and back door keys, they also asked her to send us a cheque for the money she cashed illegally. We were asked if we wanted to press formal theft charges at this point and we are currently following this up with Consumer Direct and Trading Standards. We urge potential clients to avoid this company like the plague, they are disreputable and are now on police records and trading standards dispute. 5/24/2011 12:56:13 PM
