Message from the Head Teacher But success doesn’t happen by magic. All school staff work together with the pupils, their parents, our governors, pre-schools and feeder schools, members of the local community and various LA agencies. I have always felt privileged to lead such a dedicated team, and together we work hard to foster an ethos where all children feel safe and happy within an environment that is welcoming and stimulating, promoting an excellent climate for learning and success . CURRICULUM planning and assessment that meets the needs of all pupils is vital to successful learning.
Our school has had a thematic child centered curriculum for a number of years. Embedded in our curriculum are a wide variety of opportunities for learning outside, both around our local area and wider school trips. These include:
Reception - Walks around the locality, Forest School and a library and farm visit.
Year 1 - Avoncroft Museum, Birmingham Art Gallery, Central Library and ThinkTank.
Year 2 - Environmental Studies Centre, Black Country Museum and the Botanical Gardens.
This year we had successful residential visits to Dodford Farm, for children inour Speech and Language Unit and also Bell Heath Environmental Studies Centre for Years 1 and 2.
We have themed weeks and visitors to enhance our curriculum eg Spanish, music, book week.
The school is also visited yearly by the Birmingham Healthy Living Caravan. At play times pupils can also access a range of playground toys. Artists in Residence have worked accross the school.
Children at Lyndon Green Infant school have the opportuntiy to become school councillors in Year 2.
Our children are also offered a number of extra curricular activities including Gym Club, science club, violin tuition, dance and football training.
