Detailed description:
The Breast Screening Service provides Breast Screening for all women between the ages of 50 and 70. It is not a Choose and Book service, ladies are routinely called every three years by the screening centre. Patients have the opportunity to change their appointment if it is inconvenient by ringing the centre.

The Service is based at the L&D, has five mobile screening vans that are located at various sites throughout Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, and a clinic at Lewsey Road serving the population of Luton. If after attending their screening appointment the lady is called back for assessment, they will attend one of our assessment clinics at Lewsey Road.
Ladies over the age of 70 can make an appointment for screening by ringing the centre directly on 01582 497 599.
