The London Luton Airport was opened on the 16 of July in 1938 by the Secretary of State for Air, Kingsley Wood where it was a base for the Royal Air Force in the Second World War. The London Luton Airport then went into being a commercial operation which it is still doing now 365 days a year serving over 10 million passengers a year on over 10 different airline companies to hundreds of destinations. The London Luton Airport is very easy to get to, from its very own dedicated train station, to its onsite, secure car parks and with it being just a few miles away from Luton town centre. The London Luton Airport utilises some of the best technology in the aviation industry. The single runway airport uses its Instrument Land System (ILS) to operate in poor visibility weather meaning the airport can run more efficiently and making sure more and more flights take off on time.
