This document is evidence that all the provisions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 has been considered, acted upon, and resolved.
Originally, Fire Certificates were issued in accordance with the 1971 Fire Precautions Act and only applied to certain designated premises such as hotels and some workplaces depending on their height, numbers of employees, and also some factories.
The original Fire Certificate was a ‘legal document’ strictly enforced by Fire Authorities but the introduction of the new fire regulations meant that since October 2006 your Fire Certificate ceased to have any effect.
