Short profile:
Finlarig B and B caters for four guests on an exclusive basis in that the guest wing is yours and only yours, so it is ideally suited to those seeking peace, tranquillity and high-quality accommodation.
Standing at about 1000ft (just over 300m), the house sits 0.7 mile (1 km) high above the village of Dulnain Bridge which is just off the A95 from Aviemore to Grantown on Spey.
Being in the heart of Strathspey, it is a wonderful base for the many outdoor activities available throughout the area and for touring the Scottish Highlands..
Lodge of Finlarig is approximately 30 miles south of Inverness and just over 60 miles north of Pitlochry. Our village has a post office/shop and a garage for motor repairs.
However long your stay, you'll be assured a warm Scottish Highlands welcome from John and Katie who will do their best to make your stay in Strathspey a memorable one and an ideal Scottish vacation.
Detailed description:
Katie as an interior designer and John as an advertising agency owner turned web developer.
We both decided it would be wonderful to move and live in the Scottish Highlands permanently. Lodge of Finlarig was enlarged and became our only home just before the millennium.
We run Lodge B and B a bit like a Wolsey Lodge when our visitors seem to finish up as friends and say they will be back. We offer dinner as an option - tired business couples warn us in advance if they want an "evening in". We are very much "at home" with a friendly dinner party atmosphere.
Now we share our home as a Bed and Breakfast and hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
Lodge of Finlarig, a B&B in the ideal Scottish location, is a modern, traditionally furnished, comfortable home, located in a wonderful position overlooking Strathspey and the Cairngorms. The exclusive ground floor guest wing accommodates a maximum of
4 guests in either:
• a double bedded room with fully appointed shower room
• a twin bedded room with fully appointed bathroom
Rooms are warm and comfortable with electric convectors and electric blankets. There is an extra drying towel rail in the shower room.
Guests wake each morning to the choice of either a Continental or Full Scottish Breakfast. The sitting room with its commanding views over Strathspey has a log burning stove, TV and a music centre. There is a secluded patio with tables and chairs where you can enjoy the warmer days - we donâ¿¿t have midges! The cell phone signals are excellent!
We can serve delicious home cooked dinners by arrangement - please discuss at time of booking.
Evening meals are available at the Riverside Restaurant, Tigh na Sgiath and Muckrach Lodge in the village. A couple of miles away there is Craggan Mill. There are several more restaurants in Grantown and Boat of Garten.
The owners, John and Katie Bruce, will ensure your comfort.
