Short profile:
With 20 babies and three premature babies born and cared for every day, it's not surprising that Liverpool Women's is well known for Maternity and Neonatal services. Yet did you know that we carry out thirty Gynaecology operations and our Reproductive Medicine unit completes 6 cycles of IVF treatment every day as well. And that's not all. We are also specialists in clinical and laboratory genetics. Research too plays a key part in ensuring we continue to develop services that directly benefit patients. We also understand the personal importance of selecting the right health care option, which is why we offer choice and flexibility through the provision of both NHS and Private Care.
Detailed description:
As our name suggests we specialise in the health of women and their babies - both within the hospital and out in the community. Collectively our team represents some of the most outstanding expertise and experience in this field. And, as one of only two such specialist trusts in the UK - and the largest women’s hospital of its kind in Europe - we are dedicated to your care and well-being. Our maternity team cares for women and their babies from conception to birth supported by our neonatal team who provide around the clock care for premature and new born babies needing specialist care. Our renowned fertility team helps families to improve the chance of conceiving babies. In gynaecology, we take care of women with the many varied conditions associated with the female reproductive system and are a renowned centre for gynaecology oncology and our genetics team supports families with the diagnosis and counselling of genetic conditions.
