Short profile:
Over the course of the past year the school has offered the following after school activities; Badminton, gymnastics, cricket, rugby, football, netball, table tennis, dance.
We have also run successful holiday clubs such as circus skills, halloween fair, art and sports days, and drama and music days.
School trips have been organised to the following; The Royal Norfolk Show, Hunstanton Sealife Centre, Walsingham Shrine and the North Norfolk Railway.
The school has also introduced a successful activity week, where the time table was amended to allow alternative activities to take place, and a book week that culminated in a highly memorable dressing up day.
Detailed description:
As a small school, meeting the needs of individuals is central to our ethos. We have excellent pupil to adult ratios and our teaching assistants are highly trained and experienced. The progress of each child is tracked and reviewed throughout the year and any issues are dealt with straight away. Children with special needs are fully integrated and have access to the entire curriculum.
Because of our size, every pupil is known by every adult so problems are identified early. All children have individual or group targets for reading, writing and maths. These are discussed with the children and reviewed every half term. Gifted and talented children are identified and the curriculum is enhanced to provide a suitable level of challenge. Planning and teaching is monitored by the Headteacher, and progress is monitored termly by the Learning and Assessment committee of the Governing Body.
