Short profile:
Our strong links with the other schools in the Ashby Cluster continue, with the children taking part in cluster residential trips to the Isle of Wight (Y6) and north Wales (Y5).
The Schools Sports Partnership has allowed children at all stages to develop their games and athletics skills by taking part in tournaments and festivals.
Year 6 children have undergone training as Young Leaders and will be able to help younger children develop playground games and activities.
Children have the opportunity to take part in Gardening Club, after-school Dance Club, Recorder Club, Basketball or Football club, Spanish Club, School Choir and holiday activities accessed through Extended Services Coordinator.
Key Stage 2 children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and many have become involved in learning to play violin, guitar, woodwind, recorder or brass instruments. Many of these play for us either in a group or as soloists at assemblies. Children also take part in choirs and orchestras arranged for special events.
