Short profile:

Children's learning is enriched through various visits and visitors to school. These include residential and day trips as well as specialist musical tuition from Leics Arts staff.

Detailed description:

All children perform in concerts and assemblies each year which develop their skills in singing, music, drama and dance.

During the past year all the children in Year 5 have had brass lessons from a specialist teacher.  All children in Years 3, 4 and 5 learn French each week.

Extra curricular activities are provided to develop children's interests or talents. These include dance, football, netball, cross country, recorders, ocarina and library clubs.

Parents are invited to attend special events such as Christmas and orchestral concerts, May Day celebrations involving country and maypole dancing, and Sports Day.

Sports matches are arranged against other schools.  Before and after school care is provided on site by the Hunny Pot Nursery.

The school has invested in the development of the outdoor learning environment over the last year. The grounds now include include meadow, fields, gardens, woodland, greenhouses and even a Tudor dew pond.  This provides space for sporting activities and allows them to explore their environment to further their learning.
