LEICESTER OPEN & DISTANCE LEARNING CENTRE

The Open Learning Centre in Evington Road helps adults to improve their maths and English so that they can develop the skills they need to go on to other courses, get a job or just deal with maths and English in everyday life. The centre is open from Monday to Saturday and is very popular. If you want to talk to a member of our friendly staff about your maths and English please just pop in.

We offer adults the chance to improve their English and/or maths skills, with a number of free part-time programmes. You can attend classes at many venues throughout the city including centres in local communities, on employers’ premises, in probation offices and in local schools. You will work on an individual learning plan and you can take qualifications from entry level to level 2, which is the same level as GCSEs and NVQ2s. Please call us for an informal chat or to arrange a skills check If you would like to learn how to use a computer, we also offer ICT sessions. We promise you it’s not going to be like school, but if you want you can work towards qualifications and certificates including the national tests in literacy and numeracy at levels 1 and 2, which are equivalent to a pass at GCSE.
