Kingsmount Residential home is an excellent dementia care home situated in Paignton, Torbay. It is the sister home of Mount Olivet Nursing Home.

Kingsmount is a Victorian mansion and coach house, once a part of the Oldway estate, recently substantially extended, refurbished and equipped to the highest standards. The Home is situated on Kingshurst Drive above Oldway Road with commanding views over Torbay. Kingsmount is registered for thirty-two beds, a level which ensures a balance between efficiency and personal attention. Our staffing levels are well in excess of the National Care Standards and this enables us to provide a more intimate level of care and personalised service in a less regimented style. Our main purpose is to provide long term residential care for elderly people no longer able to care for themselves. In addition we are both registered and equipped to cater for those who have complex physical needs but who do not require nursing care and for elderly people with dementia who are more a risk to themselves than to others and we cater for male and female residents. Our emphasis is on service and tranquillity. Our aim is to assist our residents to live in the style to which they were accustomed at home. We recognise that the decision to take a place in a care home is often a difficult one and that the principal driver is the requirement for the constant availability of qualified care staff. Our staff are trained to understand that the needs of individual residents can vary greatly and this individuality is reflected in their care plans. Whilst we provide twenty-four hour care, we encourage independence and we will give as much or as little assistance as required. Kingsmount is home to most of our residents and as such is run for their convenience. Our principle aim is to ensure a superbly supportive environment where the attention paid to dignity and quality of life is paramount.
