The school provides a Breakfast Club before school with Canterbury and District Early Years Project. Morning Moves is an athletics club for all children taking place in the playground before school. Lessons are motivating, starting from the children's experiences. Good use is made of the school's location in the centre of the city of Canterbury for field trips and visits. Teaching is enhanced by effective use of ICT. A range of practical and written activities are planned, often with a topic approach.
Children have recorder and choir lessons from a Kent Music School teacher. Pupils use the school field for PE lessons and the local swimming pool and Sports College facilities which are within walking distance. Children make regular visits to the local library. There is a residential visit each year for year 5 and 6 pupils. At playtimes and lunchtimes games are organised, with pupil playleaders responsible for equipment and running activities.
A structured indoor alternative is available. Teachers run a wide range of after school clubs including football, tennis, dance, cooking, ICT and art. The school provides families with information about many activities taking place in the community after school, at weekends and in the holidays.
