totally unsatisfactory work, not to specification; what was to specification is being broken up by weeds (approx 6 months after laying). Brick edging is not secure, join to pavement loose and insecure, gates require re-hanging. The staff do not return calls emails or letters. Trading standards are also on the case. 12+ months have elapsed since we made Kings aware of the problems. I cannot stress enough how unprofessional Kings are. AVOID.8/20/2011 8:46:38 PM

THEY ARE POSSIBLY THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH IN MY LIFE. THEY LAID MY DRIVEWAY WHICH THEN STARTED TO BREAK UP AFTER ONLY A LITTLE WHILE AFTER. IT HAS TAKEN US 14MONTHS TO GET THEM TO COME BACK OUT AND FIX THE ISSUE, IT HAS BEEN SO POOR SERVICE WE HAD TO GET TRADING STANDARDS INVOLVED. PLEASE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COMPANY TO DO YOUR DRIVEWAY DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY "KINGS DRIVEWAYS" AS YOU WILL ONLY BE DISSAPPOINTED. 4/27/2011 7:53:49 PM

I phoned and the person I spoke with was very unprofesional - I asked for a quote - but because I was not willing to start work immediately - the person said they would send a surveyor out when I wanted the work done - I said this was unacceptable as I needed to get some rough quotes now - to short-list contractors and if they couldn't do this - I would not be using them - the person then said 'OK' - and put the phone down ! I would not recommend this company.11/23/2010 10:25:16 AM

had a concrete print drive put down recently by Kings. The initial sales was fine and the design was fine ..then the sales rep (once the deposit had been taken) said we will contact you in the week to arrange a start date . 3 weeks later I rang and was told they were busy so hadn't yet got anyone round....No apology for not calling to let me know! The drive went down and the workmen have knocked paint off 2 columns holding up my overhang to my garage and a piece of brick was knocked from a brick in my garage wall and just left on the lawn and the workmen trod over the plants at the front.nothing was mentioned by the workmen about this.I let those things go though. The drive and the printing are generally ok except that 1) there are quite a few cracks which are more than hairline cracks on the printed surface.(The contractor was told of these and said they would 'sort that' when the sealant went on it) 2)where they have sealed up to the kerbstones next to the public path some kerbstones are sealed and some are not, i.e they couldnt be bothered to do it neatly and when I asked if they fill in the gaps which they cut to allow for expansion they said 'we can do if you want' so i asked do you normally fill them in?, reply was 'we can do if you want'! So they filled in the gaps with sillicone and some colour on top but like the kerbstones it is half done. called the saleswoman round to have a look and she noted my complaint, took photo's and said she would get someone round in the week to sort out the problems.....3 weeks later no phone call and no problems sorted. I wished I would have gone with a smaller firm where you know exactly who is fitting your drive and can look at examples of their work. With large firms you can look at their work but you dont know if the large firm will send out their best or worst contractor. So far the standards by both the saleswoman and the contractors have been poor ,poor by sale staff by not sorting things when they said they would and being too proud to apologise when they mess up and poor by the contractor for saying cracks will be 'sorted' and they havent been, and rushing the last part of the job which unfortunately shows in the finished product. I cannot recommend them and suggest you look at alternatives.6/7/2010 5:37:11 PM

    • karen roberts: I asked Kings driveways to come and resurface our driveway in August 2010, Karl Roberts came to do the survey, all was fine although I thought the cost of £380 was a little steep !!!! we paid a deposit of £160, Karl wanted all of the £380, but I was not happy paying it all, we had no contract. We would be contacted the following week with a time and date !!!! and then nothing, despite phone calls to an office and a woman who was hopeless, who kept saying we would be rung by another team to do the job !!!! Finally in January, we said enough and contacted Trading standards, we sent a registered letter to Karl Roberts, and gave him 2 weeks to respond, the day before the two weeks were up, we were contacted by the team they were coming the next day at 7.30am !!!! Stuart the guy who came, was the only decent guy I met through the whole experience !!! Never use Kings driveways, never recommend them, and never darken my door again.
