Short profile:
Kettering Textiles Limited, collectors and processors of used clothing and recyclable textiles.
Kettering Textiles Limited is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading collectors of used clothing and recylable textiles. The directors of the company have over thirty five years of experience in this constantly changing market and the company has an enviable reputation for supplying quality clothing and other textiles to both established and developing markets around the world.
In 1991 Kettering Textiles Limited and The Salvation Army, through the medium of its trading subsidiary Salvation Army Trading Company Limited (SATCoL), began an ongoing relationship which today, by sheer excellence of service, has become the country's largest collector of used clothing.
Detailed description:
The textile recycling scheme resulting from our agreement with Salvation Army Trading Company Limited generates several hundred tonnes of donated clothing and textiles each week. This donated clothing is known as Original Mixed Clothing and, depending on its source, it forms our major product lines as follows:
Clothing Bank Original Mixed Clothing
Each week Kettering Textiles Limited collects hundreds of tonnes of used clothing and shoes from more than 3500 clothing banks strategically located throughout the country. Local teams of collectors visit all of our clothing banks on a weekly basis, or more often as required, providing a reliable collection service unmatched in the United Kingdom.
The donated clothing is transported to our Processing and Distribution Centre in Kettering where it is screened to remove all non-clothing items and waste. The screened product is then available for sale as Clothing bank Original Mixed Clothing. Kettering Textiles Limited supplies a large number of customers both in the United Kingdom and overseas with this product.
Door-to-Door Original Mixed Clothing
Over the course of each year millions of homes are visited by our nationwide network of collectors providing a comprehensive household collection service. The donated clothing is screened in the same way as the clothing bank product and sold as Door-to-Door Original Mixed Clothing to our many customers at home and overseas.
Operating from our Corporate Headquarters in Wellingborough and our Processing and Distribution Centre in Kettering, both in Northamptonshire, we offer a range of products and services.
