Short profile:

Built in 1779, it is a hotel of interesting history and many of it amazing original features still intact. Modernisation of the hotel has emphasised these features whilst keeping within the hotels charm.

Detailed description:

The hotel is well within its two neighbouring areas of different time periods. To one side you have the newly developed millennium project of Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower, whilst on the other you have the Historic Dockyard which houses three magnificant ships and looks into the history of the Portsmouth Naval Base.

    I stayed in the middle of the coldest spell this year, the heating system was not working neither was the small electric heater on the wall, the blanket on the bed would put a dogs basket to shame, as for the bathroom, well the hair in the bath wasnt mine,best thing for this place would be demolition. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
