JULIE AINSCOUGH

Short profile:

Julie Ainscough- classical musician, teacher and composer. I am known not only as a well-reputed performing musician and pragmatic musical manager, but also as one of the more prominent pipe organ and piano teachers in the Home Counties. My career involves organ recitals, harpsichord continuo performance, training and direction of choirs and choral societies, direction of music at weddings, funerals and memorial services, regular church service organ-playing, pipe organ and piano tuition, plus music theory and advanced composition lessons. Commissions for original musical compositions and musical arrangements may be accepted, subject to the usual negotiations.

Detailed description:

I have received critical acclaim for performances of organ music from the late Renaissance and the Baroque eras, and have a particular affinity with the music of the Spanish, French and North German schools. I am also highly-reputed as a performer of organ music by the major French romantic and Twentieth Century composers - César Franck and Jehan Alain in particular. The choral repertoire which I encompass as a conductor can range from plainsong, the polyphonic era (the Spanish masters in particular), via the Baroque era and the Viennese classical school, to the leading composers of the Romantic age and the Twentieth Century. Music for the Church year and music for the choral society concert are catered for with equal understanding and skill. I have a significant record of success as a teacher of pipe organ. Piano tuition - at all levels from beginner to advanced. With some forty years' experience of Anglican and Roman Catholic church musicianship at Parish and Cathedral levels, I am able to offer both musical talent and practical ability on a human level.
