Short profile:

Joseph Chamberlain is a sixth form college independently governed by its own Corporation and funded by the Government. We are not a school sixth form; nor are we part of a large FE college as is the case with most sixth form centres. As the only Sixth Form College or General Further Education College in Birmingham or Solihull to have been awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher & Further Education and an overall grade 1 (outstanding) classification from OfSTED, demand for places is high. Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College is one of twenty universities and colleges across the United Kingdom to receive The Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education. The awards are given to recognise the outstanding work of universities and colleges to support the United Kingdom's reputation as a world class provider of education.

Detailed description:

One of the reasons for our success is that we are a small college - but this means we cannot take everyone who applies. We also know that our courses may not be the right choice for everyone and we are always happy to give impartial advice about your post-16 options. Because we cannot take everyone who applies we may advise you about other colleges or schools that may be a good choice for you.

Tutors at Joseph Chamberlain have very high expectations; we expect our students to work hard and to meet demanding targets. We offer a lot of support and will work with you to get the best possible results.

If you feel that the distinctive philosophy offered at JCC is right for you, apply early and, above all, work hard at school to ensure that your reference is good enough to get a place here.
