The practice was established in 1975 to provide a comprehensive, confidential and impartial consultancy service to Industry in the specialised fields of water, wastewater and environmental management.

The services offered by the practice encompass all aspects of the water cycle, including water supply, treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and disposal and the associated planning, design, installation and commissioning of treatment systems. In addition the practice can undertake project management, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), waste handling/minimisation audits, PPC permit applications under the new Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) and pollution control (EPC) investigations as these may be required for regulatory compliance and/or environmental management system (EMS) development.

Guidance and assistance is also available on trade effluent handling and disposal, including advice on discharge consents and agreements, discharge standards, trade effluent charges, monitoring and sampling systems, analytical testing and negotiations with the Environment Agency and Water Service Companies.

John S. Cooper, the Principal, has extensive experience of the statutory, financial, and technical aspects of environmental protection as this relates to both existing and new industrial developments. He is an Expert Witness, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, a Chartered Scientist, a Chartered Chemist and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
