James Totty began his architectural career around the turn of the century, as an articulated pupil of Edwin Isle-Hubbard, who founded the practice in 1858. From his early work mainly for ecclesiastical and domestic clients, James Totty developed a more commercial client base, local to the Rotherham area.
Detailed description:
Since then, with the introduction of other Partners, consolidating the sound foundation of experience, the scope and scale of the projects undertaken has gradually increased to encompass a wide range of building types. The Practice has developed from its original Rotherham base to a main office in Sheffield with a considerably enhanced sphere of activity.
