James Gibson (Darwen) are pleased to serve a growing number of local tradesmen, businesses and residents from many towns within East Lancashire including Bolton, Blackburn, Accrington and Burnley. Since moving to a larger shop on Wood Street in 2006, we have been able to stock even more products than before and now boast a second floor showroom selling workwer, clothing & footwear including a wide range of fully compliant safety wear.
Detailed description:
James Gibson (Darwen) Ltd originally started trading in Darwen in the late 19th Century when the business was established as an ironmongers, forging iron goods tailored to local customers needs. These days the business is the number one local ironmongers for building and engineering supplies for the trade and DIY enthusiast. A couple of our previous premises can be seen on the picture (above left) on the A666 and The Green, close to the centre of Darwen. Our new shop is still conveniently located close to the town centre, along the main road which travels through the town but we also benefit from better parking directly outside the premises for loading your purchases into your vehicle.
