JAI CHITNAVIS MA MCHIR FRCS ORTH, CONSULTANT KNEE SURGEON

Jai Chitnavis is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Cambridge UK. Jai's elective practice is dedicated to knee surgery in general. Mr. Chitnavis was a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals between 2002 and 2010. During those years he was exposed to the broad spectrum of knee disorders presenting to a major teaching hospital. He also taught medical students and orthopaedic trainee surgeons. He continues to be actively involved in research into disorders of the knee.

Mr. Chitnavis is now in Independent Practice in Cambridge where he manages The Cambridge Knee Clinic. Between 2001-2 Jai spent a year as Fellow in Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine to Dr. Merv Cross in Sydney, Australia. During the Fellowship, he also worked as surgical assistant to Dr. Leo Pinczewski, mastering techniques of ligament reconstruction.

He was doctor to a rugby league team in Sydney. Whilst undertaking 7 years of orthopaedic training in Oxford, Jai Chitnavis completed a Master of Surgery Thesis which investigated the causes and presentation of severe osteoarthritis of the hip and knee. Jai Chitnavis studied at Isleworth Grammar School and won a place to study medicine at Christ's College, Cambridge. He was a clinical student at Charing Cross and Westminster Hospital, London.
