Short profile:
At the International School of London, we provide a dynamic and balanced curriculum, based on the International Baccalaureate programmes. Our teachers and students come from over fifty countries. Unlike many international schools, we do not have one dominant nationality.
The diversity in ISL makes us a truly global international school. Drawing on the rich variety of cultures represented at the school, ISL aims to develop in each student a global outlook, which seeks to understand and appreciate the attitudes and values of others.
We value highly the learning of mother-tongue languages.
We are one of the few schools to offer home languages in the mainstream curriculum. We offer around twenty languages to students from Early Childhood to Year 13.
Detailed description:
We understand that parents often feel guilty about moving children away from their extended families, cultural roots, and national education systems. However, at the International School of London we make certain that we replace that loss with an enriching international education that will equip the students with the knowledge and skills needed for the 21st century.
Parents can be assured that the International School of London meets high academic and professional international standards. ISL is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) to offer the IB Diploma and IB Middle Years Programmes. In fact, ISL was a pioneer in the implementation of the IB Diploma Programme, being one of the very first schools to offer it in 1976. We are also currently implementing the IB Primary Years programme awaiting. The three International Baccalaureate programmes provide dynamic and balanced curriculum frameworks that enrich the development of our students throughout their formative years.
ISL has the most active and successful parent-teacher association in London. It is based on a multi-faceted European model that enables our students and their families to make a smooth transition into their new school. Students and families participate fully in every aspect of school life while they are here, and when the time comes to leave, they farewell their school and friends in a meaningful way to ensure lasting friendships.
