Interior Experience is a small and specialist company offering a comprehensive and affordable bespoke soft furnishing and re-upholstery service for our clients. For those who wish to learn how to create their own masterpieces (or just to take up a new hobby) Fiona Hill, our founder, runs courses in all types of curtain making, soft furnishing and traditional and modern upholstery.
We have many years experience in providing professional services with a large number of long standing clients who value our quality workmanship. Additionally we pride ourselves in offering a friendly and personal service producing work to reflect the style and personality of our clients.
We are happy to take on jobs of all sizes from a single room to an entire property and will happily work to the budget of the client. Our service is comprehensive ranging from measuring and design advice through to installation.

Interior Experience was formed in 1993 by Fiona Hill, who decided to turn her long-standing interest in soft-furnishing and interior design into a business.
At the company’s inception Fiona worked alone to create curtains and furnishings for family and friends, but word quickly spread and she began to undertake larger commissions including country homes and estates and recently for The Vivat Trust in Shropshire. Fiona continues to undertake a broad range of projects, completing much of the work herself, however she is now assisted by a number of highly skilled colleagues in order to fulfil her clients’ requirements and timescales.
In addition to her commissioned work, Fiona has been teaching soft furnishing and upholstery for over 15 years in Colleges of Further Education, Adult Colleges and private classes. She is City and Guilds trained in her crafts to diploma level gaining a distinction for her upholstery, and in addition has qualifications in embroidery, patchwork and quilting, and French polishing. She has a Certificate in Education (FE) along with other teaching qualifications.
Fiona’s strength as a teacher lies in the combination of her many years of teaching experience and the practical expertise she has developed from her extensive practice.
