Today’s frontline personnel are confronted with challenges where they require independent accounts to incidents. Potentially explosive situations can be defused where participants are aware activities are being recorded. To enhance the effectiveness of frontline personnel RoboCam has introduced their purpose built body worn video system, commonly known as a head cam.
The RoboCam body worn video system acts as a visual deterrent as highlighted in a trial at a London Hospital where the security manager commented “The RoboCam reduced our incidents of verbal abuse by 60% and recorded incidents of physical aggression by 29%.” The RoboCam also resolves the age old conundrum of one’s word against another’s as highlighted by the Services Manager of a well known UK University “RoboCam is able to record abusive or aggressive behaviour towards security staff; this gives senior management a different and independent view of the aggressors behaviour.”
Detailed description:
The RoboCam body worn video system uses advanced digital recording technology, which is a modern corroborative recording solution. RoboCam is a mobile recording system which fully meets the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) Technical Specifications in their Guidance for the Police Use of Body-Worn Video Devices. Designed for robust environments the purpose built RoboCam recording unit has a protected 3.5¿ TFT LCD screen, touch sensitive button controls, a shock resistant solid state recorder and a protective unit cover. The lightweight RoboCam R1 Unit weighs only 210 grams. Equipped with a miniature built in omni directional high quality condenser bass microphone, the RoboCam R1 system controller does not lose sound quality in loud or noisy environments. The high resolution bullet camera operates in virtual darkness.
Whilst the most common method of mounting the RoboCam body worn video system is as a head cam there are, to accommodate different theatres of operation three different mounting options, allowing the camera to be attached to an operatives head as a head cam, shoulder or chest.
Materials used in the TurtleSkin® range offer the highest possible protection available from the fabrics used. The TurtleSkin® range is designed for personal safety in and around the workplace. The high protection nature of the gloves means that personal protection offered is of the highest standard without compromising on the movement and comfort of the wearer. All Turtleskin needlestick or needle resistant gloves and sleeve guards are made from a special patented fabric. The TurtleSkin patented fabric has the closest weave of Aramid fibres ever achieved, which means the highest protection from puncture and cuts is given at all times, making TurtleSkin essential PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
