In the UK, to be considered sterling silver, an item must have a purity of .925 which is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metal, usually copper. Our Peruvian silver jewellery uses silver of a higher purity .950, which is 95% pure silver, and as a result our jewellery is shinier than 9.25 sterling silver and durable for life.
