For clients wanting to modernise, alter or extend their home or build from new we can manage all aspects of the project including the initial design stage. Working in house or in conjunction with your selected architect we will see the project through the Local Authority Planning process and prepare the technical submission for Building Regulations approval. We will then prepare a detailed schedule of works with specifications for the tender document, essential for obtaining an accurate costing for the work. Then administer the contract to ensure the proper execution of the works with fair and accurate accounting.

We have been providing chartered surveyor services in the New Forest and surrounding areas since 1983. We cover the whole of the New Forest and the coastal belt from Hythe along the Solent to Christchurch.

Our extensive local knowledge is brought to bear for your benefit. We are well experienced in all aspects of local building techniques such as cob and materials such as thatch.

We have no commercial affiliations to financial institutions or agencies. Our clients recognise the value of impartial and independent advice which they require in a prompt and personal manner. We are members of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and The Association of Building Engineers (abe) and hold Professional Indemnity Insurance to the value of £1 Million.

We can help you with the identification and analysis of specific defects and provide advice on their remedies.

Damp - analysis of the cause of a damp problem which may be due to rising or penetrating damp, as a result of roof or chimney leaks, defective damp proof membranes or obstructed cavities to name a few. Condensation may also be present, often due to poor heating or ventilation and inadequate insulation. Rot - analysis of the type of decay found and assessment of the repairs and treatment required.

Woodworm - commonly found in our area in older timbers particularly if affected by any dampness. Often this can be cured by treating and does not involve structural timber replacements, but this can be necessary in more serious attacks. Structural Movement - resulting in distortion and cracking of the building. This can be caused by long term changes in weather conditions or damaged drains changing the water content and condition of the underlying soil. We will investigate and advise on the correct course of action.

Roofs - high level inspections of roofs and areas hidden from ground level view to assess their condition. Floors - Assessment of settlement in solid ground bearing concrete floor slabs.
