Howard Ward Associates are one of the East Midlands’ leading firms of consulting civil and structural engineers. We advise on all aspects of above and below ground design as well as investigating defects in existing properties. Our team of highly qualified chartered engineers and technicians work as an integral part of construction project teams to produce innovative and deliverable engineering solutions.

Our work is focused on providing engineering solutions. Our work exists in various forms and for a wide variety of clients but we will always strive to deliver innovative, timely and appropriate solutions to our clients. HWA was founded in 1977 to focus predominantly on investigating and reporting on existing structures. Today, whilst that discipline remains, the heart of our business delivers structural engineering design. We also offer a full range of complementary engineering services including highways design, geotechnical investigations and flood risk assessments. We have worked on a diverse range of projects giving us an extensive back catalogue of experience and solutions. Looking forward, we firmly believe in applying our engineering skills and judgement to the specific challenges we face - regardless of the project's sector or scale. We also understand how important it is to deliver excellent service as well as efficient engineering design. During feasibility, excellent service means actively listening and understanding clients’ requirements which can then be translated into deliverable engineering solutions. During construction it means maintaining open and timely dialogue with our client and all members of the project team to ensure the build phase runs smoothly. Our clients range from experienced developers, architects, contractors and end-users. However, irrespective of who our client is, we recognise the importance of working and communicating efficiently with all of the stakeholders involved in the project. At HWA we pride ourselves on providing integrated structural solutions in partnership with other members of the professional design team.
