HOSPITAL AIDS

Hospital Aids have been manufacturing evacuation equipment for hospitals, nursing homes and hospices since the early 1980's. Based in Northampton, our products are distributed to the UK, Republic of Ireland, Saudi Arabia and is hoping to expand into Europe. Our unique products are currently being used throughout the national health service, private hospitals, residential care homes and schools to evacuate non-ambulant patients / residents / pupils. These products are quite different to most other evacuation products, in the marketplace, such as chairs, conventional stretchers etc.

as they tend to minimise the manual handling problems associated with the normal methods used. Since the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order of 2005, there has been a significant increase in interest in our evacuation equipment product range. Our most well known products are the Ski Sheet, which is located permanently and unobtrusively under the mattress and is instantly available in emergency situations, and the Ski Pad, which has evolved from the familiar Ski mattress evacuation sheet and is used in cases where normal mattress evacuation cannot be used safely, due to narrow fire escapes and staircases.

Our products have been used to successfully evacuate patients in some very high profile hospital fires such as, the Royal Marsden Blaze of January 2008. All of our evacuation products, with the exception of our chair range are manufactured here in Northampton and as a company we are committed to maintaining our manufacturing base here in the UK. Our product range is adaptable and we are able to construct proto-types and variations on our standard range of products.
