Short profile:

At Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, we believe in the concept of lifelong learning, and in the idea that both adults and children learn new things every day. We maintain that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone; in short, it should be fun. Through our teaching, we equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to be able to make informed choices about the important things in their lives. We believe that appropriate teaching and learning experiences help children to lead happy and rewarding lives.

We believe that people learn best in different ways. At our school, we provide a rich and varied learning environment that allows all children to develop their skills and abilities to their full potential.

Detailed description:

At Holy Trinity CE Primary School we want our parents to feel involved in their children's learning and fully part of the school community. We believe strongly in seeking to build a firm partnership between school and home as we know this is crucial to children's well being and success.

From your first visit to the school until your child leaves us in Year 6 we want you to feel supported. We are aware of the many pressures and challenges of being a parent in the 21 st Century and we are here to help. New parents receive a welcome pack that we hope will help your child get off to a flying start.

Each year parents will be invited to school to meet their child's class teacher. The class teacher will explain all the important information about how and what the children will be learning and suggest ways that parents can support their child at home. We will also give you a clear indication of what homework is expected. You will know what school visits we will be offering and what these will cost.

In the Autumn and Spring terms we invite you to meet with your child's class teacher to review your child's work and progress. In the Summer term teachers prepare a comprehensive written report, if you have any questions or concerns at any other time your child's class teacher will be happy to talk with you. We do ask that you make an appointment with the school office. It is also extremely helpful to staff if it is possible for you give an indication as to what you would like to discuss as this helps them to be best prepared for the meeting.

Through our weekly newsletter published on Fronter, our managed learning environment, and our online photo gallery you can see what is happening at school. Many of our school policies and important documents are available for you to download on our website. The school diary of events is updated regularly and can also be found on this website.
