A brief history of our school :- The Holy Spirit Primary School in Heckmondwike West Yorkshire opened in 1968 and continues a tradition of Catholic Education in the town. Bishop Robert Cornthwaite of Beverley established the first Catholic Parish in Heckmondwike in 1871 and Fr Stephen Dolan was to be the first Parish Priest celebrating Masses from a rented room in a house in Brighton Terrace.
