Short profile:
We are a strong worshipping community and our Catholic ethos is very important. We have a dedicated staff who work tirelessly for the benefit of our school community. We are committed to offering the best standard of education for each individual pupil, with full and equal opportunities for intellectual, social, physical, moral and spiritual growth. We aim to respond to every child’s changing needs, equipping children with the skills to meet the demands and needs of a changing society, whilst encouraging and developing the partnership between home, school and parish. We welcome visitors to our school and enjoy the experiences that they can bring to our pupils
Detailed description:
There are planned visits linked to the curriculum for each year group and visitors who come to the school. Visitors this year have included representatives from the RSPCA; RSPB; Railway Safety; a Jewish Rabbi and Climate Cops. A small number of parents have also delivered presentations to the children about their occupation.
An 'International Day' each term is supported by leaders from those communities which have included the Chinese, Indian and French communities
The school arranges for live music from each section of the orchestra to be performed in school as an important learning experience three times a year.
We invite theatre groups to visit the school and take groups of children to the local theatre to share this experience.
Swindon Town Football Club is used as a venue for ICT experiences for Year 5 and 6.
There is a residential visit for pupils in Year 6 and this usually takes place after the end of Key Stage 2 SATs.
There is a comprehensive swimming programme.
Extra Curricular activities are many and varied. They include:
Table Tennis, Choir Club, Tag Rugby, Cricket, Girls Football, Boys Football, golf, Recorder Club, Drama Club, Netball Club, Chess Club, Dance Club, ICT Club and Life Skills Club.
