Cold water hydrotherapy treatment can be used for many lower leg injuries. The water has a massaging effect which helps to reduce heat, swelling & pain. Salts are a great healer particularly on open wounds and fungal infections.

Our Equine Spa is housed inside our own spa barn to ensure that we can deliver effective treatment whatever the weather. Your horse is lead comfortably into the Spa, settled and then water & salts are added. Our Solarium aids the quick-drying process of your horse after treatment and warms the animal through gently. After a treatment your horse or pony is returned to the stabling for a period of rest. Equissage gives a deep cycloidal massage. Benefits include increased circulation and lymphatic drainage, relaxation of muscles and increased joint mobility which in turn produces better movement and performance.
Our stables are comfortably bedded, & designed to be a home from home. Horses can be exercised in our school and are encouraged to move around after treatment. Here you can a visit from the Vet! Working with mobile X-ray equipment, he is able to see underlying causes of injury and then we can work together to identify the best treatment methods. Normally the healing of equine leg injuries may be prolonged as the new tissue type is weak and prone to re-injury. Spa treatments resolve injuries faster in two ways; firstly, by keeping the leg temperature lower it minimises the effect of fibre deteriorating collegenase; and secondly by reducing the swelling, it allows collagen fibres to repair neatly.
