Detailed description:
In school hours, termly trips to museums or places of interest or visiting artistes enhance school-based learning and develop pupils’ wider knowledge and understanding of the world.
Specialist or peripatetic teachers lead participation in school or inter-school activities, local festivals and national competitions, in art music PE and science. Able pupils are challenged in exciting projects such as book writing, research and an engineering project.
During our annual school carnival and class assemblies every pupil contributes in exciting presentations to the local community. These are joyful and colourful dramatic, musical and artistic celebrations of our pupils’ skills and diversity.
Many opportunities during the school day encourage pupils’ contributions and responsibilities to the whole or class community, whether as members of School Council and Junior Road Safety Officers or playground buddies, monitors and helpers.
Out of school hours, a rich variety of over 30 clubs range from football and flower arranging, to karate, creative textiles, and African drumming and dancing.
