Short profile:

This aspect of the school is outstanding with extensive opportunities to participate in local, regional and national events sports events and out of school activities.

• Students participate in outward bound and water sports in Cumbria and Scotland with young people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

• Assemblies and circle time use key themes from national exemplars to promote examples of other communities e.g. Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish and Muslin.

• Charity fundraising is led by pupils.

• Performances present disability issues in local and regional events.

• Pupils attend The Blackpool Sixth Form, Collegiate High School, Hodgson High School, City Learning Centre and St. Bernadette’s RC Primary.

• Young people have participated in Sir Alynsley Green, 11 Million Project  and represented disability issues to the DCFS and were involved in a Children’s Cabinet meeting at 10 Downing Street.

• Young people were involved in developing the Green and White Disabled papers through working parties. This involved meeting Ministers and MPs in Parliament.

• The school  promoties African Music and ethnic dances in Blackpool Festivals.

• We have tradition of supporting an Indian Education charity
